Special Immigrant Juveniles (SIJ)
We at the Law Office of Dharmik Barot are committed to the well-being of children. As part of our comprehensive services, we also cater our services in cases involving Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJ). SIJ is a relief available to certain immigrant children subjected to abuse, neglect, or abandonment by one or both parents. To be eligible for SIJ, a family court must first determine that it is not in the child’s best interest to be returned to their home country due to abuse or neglect. Once this determination is made, SIJ applicants can seek lawful permanent residency in the United States. We help SIJ applicants to obtain an order from a Family Court as well as help them represent before the Immigration Judges, ensuring that eligible children receive the protection and support they need within the immigration system.
